Our commitment to a more sustainable future

Sustainability is no longer an option, but the strategic direction for competitiveness and responsibility in the modern trade fair sector. Today, visitors, exhibitors, and partners seek venues that can live up to ESG challenges (environmental, Social, Governance).

For Fiere di Parma, this means much more: it means acting as a driver of value for the Food Valley and the surrounding territory, ensuring that every event generates lasting economic, environmental, and social benefits. We are committed to a trade fair development model with a long-term vision, where efficiency meets ethics.

CONCRETE ACTIONS: SUSTAINABILITY IN EVERY EVENT

Our journey is marked by significant investments and strategic partnerships that turn commitment into measurable results.

A cutting-edge system for on-site energy generation to drastically reduce our carbon footprint:

  • 7 MW photovoltaic system: a state-of-the-art installation that produces around 5 million kWh of electricity each year, directly powering the exhibition centre’s operations.
  • Electric mobility: we have installed 30 charging stations across the fairgrounds to support the transition toward greener mobility for visitors, exhibitors, and employees, encouraging sustainable transportation.

We actively promote the circular economy by ensuring responsible management of the material lifecycle.

  • Recovery and redistribution of food products: since 1994, Fiere di Parma has been collaborating with the Banco Alimentare Foundation to recover and donate unused food at the end of events to charitable organizations. At the most recent editions of Cibus Parma 2024 and TUTTOFOOD Milan 2025, the recovered foodstuffs reached 15 tons for each of the events.
  • Paper and cardboard recycling with Emc2 Onlus: since 2018, in collaboration with Emc2 Onlus and its compactors, we efficiently recycle paper produced both in offices and during events.
  • Plastic compactors (Corepla): we install eco-compactors in the exhibition halls, in partnership with the Corepla Consortium, to ensure proper recycling of plastic bottles consumed at the fair.
  • Wood recovery with Saviola: Thanks to our partnership with Saviola, wood waste generated during setups is fully collected and recycled, with the corresponding supply chain certification.

We are deeply engaged in our local community and invest in improving both quality of life and the environment:

  • Ordinary member of Kilometro Verde Parma: since 2022, we have been actively participating in this ambitious urban reforestation project. We contribute to the creation of a green barrier along the A1 motorway, a planting initiative that helps combat air pollution and enhances the surrounding landscape.
